ANAT is pleased to welcome members to our new magazine Filter. The magazine has replaced the Newsletter and will be produced three times a year. Filter will include more articles on art, science and technology practice both in Australia and internationally. We are expanding our pool of writers and have invited artists and writers from the field to contribute to Filter on a regular basis.
Filter will bring you ANAT news and will also offer critique and debate on wider issues of relevance to the art, science and technology sector. With ANAT recently announcing its new Synapse Art and Science Residency Program we focus this first issue of Filter on art and science practice. Linda Cooper discusses what is art and science practice and John Conomos writes on Mari Velonaki’s residency at the Australian Centre for Field Robotics.
Each issue will feature the work of an ANAT member and in this first issue of Filter our featured member is John Nicholson from Sydney. Filter will also include reviews and previews on exhibitions and events and will support young writers across the country to contribute to the magazine.
Filter will bring you updates on ANAT projects and programs and will publish selected Conference and Workshop Fund reports. ANAT will continue to inform members about national and international opportunities (festivals, conference and awards) through the Email Digest and ANAT website. A new look Email Digest will be coming to you soon!
Our new look magazine is designed by ANAT’s Design and Multimedia Coordinator Patrick Tam. We hope that you enjoy Filter and we welcome any feedback you may have.
